Yesterday one of my favorite artists delivered her work for me to photograph. I absolutely love capturing her work because it is full of intriguing brush strokes culminating to recreate rich scenes from vintage photographs.
I didn’t grow up in the times she pulls a lot of her inspiration from, but I grew up seeing these photos in my grandmother’s photo albums.
My maternal grandparents spent a lot of time on the coasts, and the photos that came from their time on the Pacific Coast are often painted out in my clients work.
Between the mood she sets in her work and my childhood filled with similar images, the nostalgia hits right in my feels. They make me long for a childhood I never had, spent poolside or on the sun filled beaches of my families younger days.
What an accomplishment how she elicits visceral memories from a life I’ve never had!
During this particular shoot I did have a challenge, one of my lights busted just as I was about to start shooting!

This particular job is on a time crunch on top of my being a busy bee for the next few days but I was able to purchase a whole new and improved light set and get the images done!

I am not a photographer, however, I have become skilled at photographing 2D art. The images I provide can be printed as an archival giclée print, hi-res images for portfolios, or shareable file sizes for email and social media.

I am really proud of the skill I’be gained and can now provide to fellow creatives. And if I’m honest, after this recent shoot I took a moment to sit back and appreciate my achievements in providing high quality images. I’ve got a knack for this kind of work.
