i’m baaaaaack

It was wild taking two months off of all work to heal from my surgery. I’m glad I took the opportunity to truly rest – body and mind.

But now that I am all done with the major healing, I’m back in the studio, at the frame shop, and my calendar is busting at the seams again.

I received a wonderful “welcome back” the week I was cleared – I participated in a community market! It was a slow one this time around, the feast and famine of an artist’s life, however, I had the best customer experience to date!

A woman bought this postcard:

As her and her friends were having a good laugh and purchasing it, I picked up on their conversation for her plans with said postcard: she was using this postcard to come out bi to a couple she was interested in! As a fellow bi-baddy, this is the kind of shit we do. Absolutely brilliant!

I am so thankful to have received the gender affirming care I did. As I’ve adjusted to my body it has become clear how bad I needed it. I feel at home, finally.

I’m excited to see how my experience will be reflected in my work. I’ve got some new postcards and stickers already drawn and on order, ready to expand my merch shop. As for analog drawing, I am finding my way back to it.

I posted a pink circular drawing I started right before I went on leave, and now I get to finish it with fresh eyes. Stoked to see what happens in the drawing with such a life changing experience.
