sometimes they just work out

I’ve been slower in drawing for quite a while now, but last night I had a quiet evening and did some midnight drawing.

I’ve slowed down on drawing new work until I get some work moving out. My apartment is beautifully decorated with my work, but the goal is to share them with others.

Plus when I framed my big piece the other day I decided to go small for a while. Those big ones are a lot of work to frame!

It was so lovely to sit at my desk, though. Drawing small is a good pivot: I get to keep drawing, there will always be new discoveries, and I love how quickly I get the satisfaction of making something out of nothing. It is special to be able to make this art.

I’ve got this one nearly figured out and I am so excited about it. After nearly no pen to paper and my recent blunder, I was delighted to find I can still draw.

I’ll share this new one when it’s finished!

  1. Yay! From the perspective of a non-artist, it’s absolutely magical to see you take a blank page and turn it into beautiful art. Amazing.
