i framed more of my work last week :…)

Last Sunday my coworker helped me get the rest of my work framed for my show coming up. After all is said and done I framed half the pieces for the show! How fucking cool is that?!

Since I can’t run the saw at the shop, or join frames yet, Millie built the four frames I needed and helped me fit two into their frames.

Millie is an accomplished framer and has shared her knowledge with me these last few months.

I had four pieces to mount, glass, add walls, and close up after she got my frames built. It was a lot of learning and I made already know how to improve in the future. I had a blast and I am thankful for Millie’s generosity in time and skill and my boss’ generosity in using her tools and shop. I feel so lucky.

My storyboards ready for the mounting process

I frame all my work identically (because it is fucking dope and looks amazing) to help bring different subjects and palettes together so I can make whatever I want and still be able to show them cohesively. I use shadow box framing which is a fairly tedious way to frame; the end product is always stunning and totally worth the work.

Ready to fit into frames!

I wish I could convey to you how proud I am for framing my own work. It is a wild feeling making something from nothing and then finishing it with such a professional touch.

Proud Raven :,)
