a story with a beginning, a middle, and an end

Years ago I painted a triptych of a match burning. It was very charming and lit up my brain to what other three part stories I could tell; I’ve not followed that idea as much as I’d like and the only other triptych I’ve made is a joint being smoked, which turned out so fucking cool!

Anywho, I revisit the burning match often – most recently in my new block print studies, I carved three new erasers this week!

This series of erasers I slowed down and thought through my process with more intension, you can tell! My lines are thinner and I was able to carve in a bit more detail. Things are coming along nicely.

I made the last one first and worked back from there. Here is the three part story:

What three part story should I make next? Any ideas?

  1. Oooo, progression through block prints, so good… And a burning match, why is it so nice to see? These block prints are like comfort food for the eyes!

For another story, what about peeling an orange? Is that too big?

    1. Comfort in fire is baked into our being!

Pealing and orange could be really cool. I’ve done orange slices with juice, but a peeling one could be very lovely. And go well with a favorite poem of mine!
